Reigning BWBL champions Inventa, Kursk (RUS) finished regular season with two wins against leaders of the Belarussian Championship Olimpia, Grodno. Inventa won 75-58 and 77-58 in Druskininkai (LTU) on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
Inventa became the best team of the regular season with 9 wins and 3 losses. Olimpia lost all their 8 matches.
On Tuesday Inventa led 35-30 at halftime, 51-37 in the 25th minute. Olimpia cut their deficit to four points (53-57) in the 32nd minute, but then Russian team went on an 18-5 run.
Inventa out-rebounded their opponents 56-35. Olimpia made just 19-of-63 field goals (30 percent).
Inventa’s center Elizaveta Shabanova achieved a double-double with 28 points and 20 rebounds (season-high). She also set a season-high for efficiency rating (36).
On Wednesday Inventa led 42-39 at halftime, 56-47 after third quarter.
Inventa out-rebounded their opponents 47-30. Olimpia made just 2-of-16 3-pointers (12 percent).
